Whether it's for home theater, smart homes, wireless networking, or whatever -- if it's digital and in the home, we're writing about it for Dummies like us. We typically tackle questions we have in the form of projects and write about them here. If you want to know the latest gadgets and solutions we're testing, click on the links below and navigate to the underlying book home pages to see what's going on in our digital homes.

We get a lot of gadgets, devices, appliances, etc. in to play with for our editorial work. And we try hard to mete out the best of the bunch, or to shed light on where things are going with the early versions of new stuff.
Below you can find stuff that we simply liked for various reasons, enough to put in our own homes or at least would have no problems telling others to do the same. We are constantly adding to this listing so check back here often.

We read a lot of stuff each day, and we find lots of interesting stories that we think should capture your fancy as they did ours. Some of the sites will require registration to see the articles, but none (except for archived stuff) require you to pay anything. Check back soon for articles that we think are nifty now.

New Touchscreen Blackberry Shipping With Only 2.5G EDGE? [BlackBerry] - 360 - 12/20/07
If the source at Boy Genius is correct, the hopes and dreams of countless Crackberry addicts will be dashed when the new Blackberry 9000 (which may or may not be known as the 9100) hits shelves without its precious 3G capability. Instead, users will be limited to 2.5G EDGE and support for 802.11a/b/g WiFi networks. They also noted that the new device will feature the same basic OS with a version 4.3.2.upgrade --not a complete design overhaul as some had anticipated. On the plus side, they did confirm the 480 x 320 resolution screen and a that the phone would "most-likely" feature a new full QWERTY keyboard layout. Probably not what many of you were hoping for, but think positive my hopelessly addicted friends, nothing is set in stone just yet. Speaking of that, the 9000/9100 will most likely ship in early 2008. [ Boy Genius via Electronista ] |
