| A handy, and universally usable kit for setting up a new wireless LAN in your home or small office. The client adapter is a USB 2.0 stick -- so it will work with both desktop and laptop PCs without needing to crack open any cases.
The access point includes a configurable firewall and a 4 port 10/100 Ethernet switch, so it can be the centerpiece of good sized home network.
Overall we found what we've expected to find from US Robotics products since we started buying their modems back in the 1980s -- a solid, reliable product that performs like it should, and which is built to last.

| Looks fine -- not going to replace that Monet on the living room wall, but you can place the base station in your house without feeling the need to hide it. The USB form factor of the client network adapter was useful and smart -- but be careful not to forget it's attached to your laptop when you're lugging it around! |

| Great coverage and throughput. We had consistent, full-speed connections throughout the house -- and we tested this unit in a house that's not usually friendly to wireless LANs. U.S. Robotics has simply performed over the years and its 54Mbps wireless router merely continues this tradition. |

| At a list price of $99.95, it's not the absolute cheapest wireless LAN kit you can buy, but compared to many of the "no-name" brands out there, we felt that the US Robotics system was superior in design and performance. Check for on-line rebates for this item -- there are some great promotions on the market now. |
