| Summary:
Roku Labs M1000 |
 | The best wireless media player we've used to date | |
| Full Review:
Roku Labs M1000 |
| The Roku M1000 is a slickly styled, easy-to-configure and use wireless media player. We have had nothing but great experiences with it -- now if only Apple would open up and let iTunes music store songs playable on this thing, we'd be in digital audio nirvana |
| Expanded Ratings:
Roku Labs M1000 |
| Design | ( / 5 ) |
| Stylish and sleek, it looks like the coolest and highest-tech piece of gear in our media room. The display is bright and easily read (if you need even bigger letters, check out the more expensive M2000). The graphics are just right -- no complaints at all here. |
| Features | ( / 5 ) |
| The only feature lacking is really beyond Roku's control -- the ability to play Apple's encrypted iTunes music store downloads. Everything else we'd expect is there (full PC and Mac compatibility, built-in Wi-Fi and more). |
| Performance | ( / 5 ) |
| It sounds great, it's easy to use (our kids can use it better than anyone in the house -- though, like most kids, they're pretty tech-savvy), and what more can you ask for? |
| Value | ( / 5 ) |
| You can pay less for some other media players, but most don't have as broad support for PC and Mac software and file types, and none look as cool. |
