Sample Chapter

Picking out one chapter to be representative of the 22 chapter in Smart Homes for Dummies was pretty tough for us, because the book carries the reader from the high level introduction chapters, to the detailed "here's how you do it" chapters later in the book, to the forward-looking fun chapters towards the end that help you figure out where your smart home will be going in the next few years.

After intense deliberation (well, actually, Pat said, "How about 15?" and Danny said, "OK"), we chose "Chapter 15:  Choosing the Parts of the Wired LAN" as a chapter that even if you don't buy the book, contains some stuff you just should know about wiring your house for a computer data network.  Of course, after reading this chapter, you'll be so enamoured with it that you'll want to order Smart Homes for Dummies.  To order on Amazon, just click here.
